Web Design & Development

Accessible by design. Compliant by default.

We build websites that work for everyone, and we audit existing sites to make sure they do too. ADA compliance isn't an afterthought here. It's where we start.

The ADA applies to your website. Full stop.

The Americans with Disabilities Act is a civil rights law, and the Department of Justice has made clear it applies to websites, mobile apps, and digital content. The accepted technical standard for compliance is WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 Level AA. Courts rely on it, regulators reference it, and with more than 5,000 ADA-related digital accessibility lawsuits filed in 2025 alone (a 112% increase since 2019) the risk of inaction is real and growing.

We approach accessibility two ways: building it in from the start on new projects, and auditing and remediating existing sites that aren't there yet. Either way, we work to WCAG 2.2 AA standards, and we use AccessiBe as a monitoring and assistive layer rather than a substitute for proper development. Accessibility done right is part of the build, not a plugin you install at the end.

Our Approach

What you can expect from our accessibility work

Accessibility isn't a checklist. It's a standard we build to, audit against, and help your team maintain long after we're done.

01

Accessible Design from Day One

On new builds, accessibility starts at the design stage, not development, and definitely not after launch. Color contrast ratios, typography sizing, focus states, and interactive element design are all evaluated against WCAG 2.2 AA as we work. The result is a design system that's accessible by construction.

02

Accessible Development

Design intent only matters if development follows through. We build with semantic HTML, proper heading structure, ARIA labels, keyboard navigability, and screen reader compatibility, so accessibility is in the code rather than layered on top of it.

03

ADA Website Audits

Already have a site and not sure where you stand? We conduct structured accessibility audits against WCAG 2.2 AA standards, evaluating every meaningful component of your site and documenting what passes, what fails, and what needs attention. It works on any platform, not just WordPress.

04

Audit Deliverables: Your Choice

Audit engagements are scoped to what you need. Some clients want a written audit report they can act on internally. Others want a full remediation roadmap with prioritized fixes and effort estimates. We scope accordingly, and you decide how deep to go.

05

Remediation

Once issues are identified, we fix them. Remediation work covers the full spectrum, from color contrast and alt text to keyboard traps, form labeling, and complex interactive component fixes. We work through the audit findings systematically and document what was resolved.

06

Ongoing Accessibility Monitoring

Accessibility isn't a one-time fix. Your site changes, and so does the standard. We offer ongoing monitoring through AccessiBe to catch new issues as content evolves, surface regressions before they become liabilities, and keep your site continuously compliant.

07

Team Training

Compliance doesn't last if your content editors and developers don't know how to maintain it. We train your team on accessibility best practices: what to watch for when adding content, how to evaluate new components, and how to keep the site compliant as it grows.

08

Accessibility Statements & Conformance Documentation

Where applicable, we can help you draft and publish an accessibility statement for your site, documenting your conformance level, known limitations, and contact process for users who encounter barriers. Scoped case by case depending on your organization's needs.

Who It's For

Accessibility requirements apply across industries

ADA Title III covers public-facing businesses. ADA Title II covers state and local government. Section 508 covers federal agencies and organizations receiving federal funding. If you have a website and serve the public, this applies to you.

Healthcare & Medical

Patient-facing websites, provider directories, and online scheduling tools are high-exposure targets. Accessibility failures in healthcare carry both legal and reputational risk, and your patients deserve a site that works for all of them.

Nonprofit & Government

State and local government entities now have an explicit WCAG 2.1 AA mandate under ADA Title II, with compliance deadlines in 2026 and 2027. Nonprofits serving the public face Title III obligations. We work with both.

eCommerce & Retail

Online stores are among the most frequently targeted in ADA accessibility litigation. If your site sells products or services to the public, you're exposed, and the volume of lawsuits targeting eCommerce shows no sign of slowing.

The Process

How we approach accessibility

  1. 01

    Discovery & Scope

We start by understanding your site, your platform, and your compliance goals. Are we building from scratch or auditing an existing site? What's your risk exposure? What deliverables do you need? Scope is defined before any audit or build work begins.

  2. 02

    Audit & Evaluation

For existing sites, we run a structured audit against WCAG 2.2 AA using automated tooling plus manual evaluation, because automated tools alone miss a significant portion of real accessibility failures. Every meaningful component is evaluated and documented. Get a Free Website ADA Compliance Consultation to get started.

  3. 03

    Reporting & Roadmap

Audit findings are compiled into a clear report, with issues categorized by severity, impact, and effort to fix. Clients who want a remediation roadmap get a prioritized plan with scope estimates, so you know what you're dealing with before work begins.

  4. 04

    Remediation & Development

Issues are resolved systematically: code-level fixes for development failures, design adjustments for visual failures, and content guidance for editorial failures. For new builds, accessible development runs in parallel with the standard development process.

  5. 05

    Monitoring & Maintenance

After remediation, we configure ongoing monitoring through AccessiBe to catch new issues as your site evolves. Regular check-ins surface regressions before they become liabilities and keep your compliance posture current.

  6. 06

    Training & Handoff

Before we close out the engagement, we train your team (content editors, developers, and administrators) on how to maintain accessibility as the site grows. Documentation is provided so the knowledge stays with your organization.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the ADA really apply to websites?

Yes. The Department of Justice has been clear that the ADA applies to websites, mobile apps, and digital content. Courts across the country have consistently ruled this way, and the volume of litigation (more than 5,000 lawsuits filed in 2025 alone) reflects that enforcement is active and ongoing.

What is WCAG and why does it matter?

WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is the internationally recognized technical standard for digital accessibility, published by the W3C. Courts and regulators rely on WCAG when evaluating ADA compliance. For most public-facing businesses, WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 Level AA is the accepted benchmark. For state and local government entities, WCAG 2.1 AA is now an explicit legal requirement under ADA Title II. To learn more, visit the official WCAG guidelines at w3.org →

We already have an AccessiBe widget on our site. Are we compliant?

AccessiBe is a valuable monitoring and assistive tool, but it's not a substitute for accessible design and development. Automated tools, AccessiBe included, catch a portion of accessibility issues, but manual evaluation and proper development practices are required to address the full scope of WCAG conformance. We use AccessiBe as part of our toolkit, alongside real accessibility work.

What does an accessibility audit include?

Our audits evaluate your site against WCAG 2.2 AA standards using a combination of automated tooling and manual evaluation. Findings are documented by issue, severity, and impact. Depending on the scope you choose, the deliverable is either a written audit report or a full remediation roadmap with prioritized fixes and effort estimates.

Do you only work on WordPress sites?

No, we audit and remediate accessibility issues on any platform. WordPress is our most common environment, but we work across all website platforms and technologies.

How long does remediation take?

It depends on the size of your site and the severity of the issues found in the audit. Simple sites with minor issues can be remediated quickly. Larger sites, or those with significant structural accessibility failures, take longer. The remediation roadmap we provide gives you a clear picture of scope before work begins.

What happens after remediation, how do we stay compliant?

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. Your site changes, and new content can introduce new issues. We offer ongoing monitoring through AccessiBe and periodic check-ins to keep your compliance posture current. We also train your team so they know how to maintain accessibility as they manage content day to day.
